This past month has been the most inconsistent weather we’ve had all year, or at least it seems like it. It’s been a constant, but fun challenge coming up with new outfits that coordinate with the season, but also the temperature. My black high waisted pants are typically in the back of my closet by now, but this year that is not the case. This outfit is great because it accommodates multiple temperatures. This is my second post in a row about off the shoulder tops because I can’t say it enough, this is a huge trend right now! Every time I leave the house I am tempted to throw on an off the shoulder top. On top of that, my graduation dress that I’ll be wearing in a couple weeks is also off the shoulder, are we surprised?

The accessory of the season is this skinny black scarf. Any silk scarf is really on trend right now, but I wanted to specifically address this one in particular. I love the length and style of it. The ends are cut and stitched at an angle which adds a great touch. This scarf is a great addition to any outfit and is lightweight and small enough to wear in the summer. If you haven’t noticed it yet, you’ll see this scarf on a lot of street style bloggers. I got mine for $7 from Forever 21.

This outfit is perfect for a chilly spring afternoon or night. Off the shoulder tops are one of the biggest trends of Spring 2016. If you do not own one yet, I highly recommend purchasing one. This top is from planet blue, but Free People also has a bunch of cute off the shoulder tops including some on sale! Refinery 29 a mentions off the shoulder tops as being the biggest street style trend from New York Fashion Week.

White Dress Events

Hi everyone!

I typically try to stick to business when it comes to my blog so you may not know that I am a senior in college and am quickly approaching my graduation this May! At Miami University, where I attend college, girls tend to wear a white dress to go with their red cap and gown, but by no means is that mandatory. I encourage everyone to be unique and choose whatever color you want even if it may clash with red. Since I am pretty monochromatic and simple anyway, I will probably end up with a white dress. A good option under a red dress may be another nuetral, such as a navy blue.
Whether you need a dress for graduation or any other summer event, these dresses are worth it. I went through multiple brands and retailers and picked my favorite white dresses. For temperature reasons I tried to stick to lightweight and sleeveless dresses. The gowns will already give us an extra layer and no one wants to be hot and sweaty in graduation pictures! If you are looking for a white dress other than for graduation, pairing it with a colored sweater or a jean jacket would be a cute addition.
In general, white dresses are a great bonus to any wardrobe. In contrast to patterns or bright colors, white dresses can easily be worn multiple times and in many different ways. That is one of the reasons I am going to purchase a white dress for graduation, so I can continue to wear it throughout spring and summer. If you go for a preppier look, feel free to match the white dress with colored shoes or a purse for a nice pop.

Non-symmetrical Light Weight Shift Dress

It’s finally spring! I was able to take a couple photoshoots in the nice weather before it started snowing here, I know right?! That’s definitely Cincinnati weather for ya. Whenever the season changes I always contemplate what I will miss most about the previous season and what I am most looking forward to for the next season to come. In terms of Spring, I typically would say that I am going to miss my booties and sweater layering. I am most excited about getting to whip out these gladiator sandals again! This season I am not going to put these booties or sweaters away. Changing seasons used to be such a hard thing for me. Having to put certain clothes in the back of my closet until the next year was the worst part. Now this is not an issue because I do not believe in clothing rules anymore. I believe that wearing white jeans in the winter definitely is a bold move, but if you wear it right I don’t think anyone will doubt your decision. This season I am going to incorporate my booties into more spring outfits. Keep an eye out for this wardrobe change that I am super excited about!

While were on the topic of transitioning, this non-symmetrical shift dress featured in this post is a great transition piece between seasons. This super cool piece is from Free People and my favorite part about it is the randomness that it entails. I love that it isn’t symmetrical all the way around. Shift dresses tend to get pretty basic sometimes so I encourage you to go out and find something unique. This dress doesn’t provide a lot of coverage, but the turtleneck and fabric do provide a little extra warmth if it does get cold out.
