Flannels and scarves essentially make up all of the color in my wardrobe. The basic pieces in my wardrobe typically consist of white, grey, or black so I love to add a flannel around my waist or a scarf to add a touch of color in my outfit. Flannels tied around your waist give you a slimmer shape all the while adding the possibility for warmth if you get cold.

I got this “Jolt” jacket for a great price from Nordstrom last winter. I still have yet to find the perfect basic leather jacket, but I do love this one. The jacket itself is pretty simple, but the detailing in the sleeves is a great touch! Everyone should have some sort of leather jacket in their closet. Not only are they stylish, but they are super warm too! Last fall I wore a dress to an interview and ended up wearing this coat over top to give it a trendy touch, while staying professional.
Since it is about mid-November, there are a lot of semi formals coming up as well as holiday parties in the near future! I decided to go through and pick out my favorite dresses from some of the biggest retailers. I am really into white and black right now as you can probably tell from most of my selections. I found this fringe sweater on sale at Nordstrom last year! This is one of my most fun, and most complimented items of my wardrobe. This sweater has so much going on that I always pair it with an all-black outfit to keep it as classic as I can.
This past weekend I was able to visit my best friend at the University of Alabama and was able to go to the Bama vs. LSU football game! I noticed that the fraternity boys dressed extremely different in the south than they did in the midwest, but the girls seemed to dress similarly to me. The trendy girls from the south were all wearing beaded necklaces similar to the one I am wearing. I was so inspired by this trend that I actually made this necklace myself. I am hoping to make a few more in a variety of colors and potentially sell them in the future if people are interested!! Feel free to comment below if you would be interested.
