Finally got our first cold weekend here in Oxford! I was planning on wearing my jumpsuit before it got cold, and was actually bummed when I realized how cold it was outside. I decided that you shouldn’t only be able to wear a jumpsuit in the summer. This jumpsuit has a darker tone to it so it was perfect for September. I paired it with my maxi cardigan to give it a stylish appeal while adding some warmth. I kept it a bit summery with the open toed sandals. Adding a sweater to a summery look is all you really need during this time of the year.

This LUSH dress is a great transition piece from summer to fall. The dress is light weight and great for hot temperatures, but really incorporates fall with the color scheme. This outfit is very simple, but adds some flare with the fringed bottom. Transition items can sometimes be difficult to find, but this piece is a great example of how to properly transition from season to season!

This oversized graphic t-shirt is a timeless piece to any wardrobe. Although oversized t-shirts can come off as grungy, I sometimes enjoy that vibe. But trust me, there is a well defined line when it comes to being too grungy. This outfit is another example of being comfortable and casual while still being fashionable. This week here in Oxford,Ohio has been extremely humid and hot. This top is great because it is light and flowy. Once the weather starts to cool down you can transition this outfit into fall attire. Simply change the shorts out for denim and add a pair of booties (and a sweater if necessary).

I recently watched a documentary called The True Cost that has to do with fast fashion and sweatshops. If I am going to be blogging about fashion I want to be familiar with the industry. I want to be aware of what clothes I am buying and where they are coming from, especially if I can have an impact. We as consumers have the power to control what we buy and in return feel good about its effects on other humans. The documentary truly hit home and made me want to simplify my wardrobe. You will start to see a gradual change from my current wardrobe. I want to become more minimal and shop smarter! This isn’t a post bashing the big retailers, but if I am going to make a change I want you all to be aware of it!

Skirts have been a huge trend this season and I finally jumped on the bandwagon. I am always hesitant to shop trends because I want to minimize my wardrobe, but a skirt like this I don’t see going out of style soon. Both suede and denim skirts are in right now. I ended up going double suede with my flats which is a unique touch.
