Although I am typically running to the gym after class and am always wearing my work out clothes, when I do have the chance to look decent this is something I would wear. Even though my top is white, I decided to add a different touch by wearing a black bralette underneath. I am all about being comfortable in class and this is a very simple outfit you can throw together quickly and still look fashionable.

What A Navy Dress Can Do For You

I never understood why having a simple navy dress would be so important until this summer. This dress is one of my favorite work outfits. I was able to wear this on both a business casual and business professional days by just switching my shoes from flats to heels! Navy is a very professional color and gave me the flexibility of wearing it to multiple occassions. I encourage everyone to have an item like this in their wardrobe because it truly will make your life easier.

Cropped Sweater

In the past I had struggled with finding an outfit for the summer when the weather didn’t quit feel like summer. Chicago had a super late summer this year and I was having to dress warmly through June and even into July. This outfit allowed me to stay warm, while also being able to dress in appropriate summer attire. I picked out a lightweight crop top sweater and paired it with my two slit maxi dress! I received so many compliments on this outfit because not many people would think of pairing a cropped sweater with a maxi dress. Cropped sweaters are great piece to have in any wardrobe because they are wearable throughout the entire year. You can also wear a sweater like this with a pair of high-waisted skinny jeans or mini skirt.

Old Finds

Wearing: Free People Top, Forever 21 Denim, Target Shoes, Rebecca Minkoff Bag, House of Harlow Necklace

Today I decided I wanted to get creative and create a fun outfit from some old items in my closet. I found this cute Free People top in the back of my closet that I had purchased over 7 years ago. I am always one to clean out my closet and get rid of items I know I won’t wear anymore. For some reason I have a hard time doing that with Free People clothing. I always have confidence that their pieces will eventually come back in style, and with this top it worked out. I decided to pair this tank with some white flare jeans that I got for a great price at Forever21. These flare jeans fit me better than the pair that I got at TopShop and they are 1/4 the price. Both my TopShop and Forever21 flare jeans are high-waisted. I try to always purchase high-waisted bottoms so that I have the option of wearing a crop top or normal top.
