While it’s great timing as we try to cross off some gifts for our loved ones (and ourselves!), the sales can be overwhelming. I’m typically not one to rush out to stores at 5 am to snag that big-ticket item. But I keep a running list on my phone all year of items I’d like to add to my closet and use the holiday weekend as a chance to cross a few off my list. Madewell up to 50% off Another basic to load up on during the holiday sales are jeans. Madewell is one of my favorite jean brands for fit and quality and the straight leg light wash slightly mom style of these vintage-inspired jeans are the perfect complement to chunky sweaters and oversized scarves.

This is a great place to find killer prices on items I wouldn’t consider at full price. However, make sure you are buying with a purpose—not just because you found it on sale! Focus on basic pieces to round out your wardrobe and consider treating yourself to one or two trend items that you’ve had your eye on. I always recommend choosing quality items but going a little lower in price point for trendy pieces. As a denim enthusiast, I’ll be looking out for some of the year’s coolest trends in denim.
