Taco Night in the Cincinnati

To be completely honest, I was never a huge taco fan in the past. Taco’s have been the biggest craze of 2018 and I just felt like an outsider for not being obsessed with tacos. Even my photographer, Annie Ryan, talks all about her love for taco’s on her website.

My friends were constantly talking about “Taco Tuesday” and “Marg night” and I just couldn’t relate. I went along with it because that felt like the more normal thing to do, but I preferred Chipotle just above over any other Mexican restaurant. Until… this past Friday.

This past Friday, I went to happy hour at Nada, and decided to give tacos another shot. Maybe, just maybe, this taco would be better than the rest, and let me tell you, it definitely was!

I ordered the:

Shrimp Verde Tacos

arugula + radish + avocado + queso fresco + green goddess dressing

They were absolutely delicious. So flavorful and refreshing all at the same time. I loved the arugula filling because it was healthy and light weight while filling me up all at the same time. No stomach aches while leaving the restaurant!

But, really who relies on the taco’s to fill them up anyway? We all know that happens the instant the chips and guac hit the table.

Unlike tacos, I’ve always liked chips and guac. I’ve rarely had a bad chip and guac combo. To no surprise Nada surpassed the test. The guac looked like it was just freshly made seconds before coming out to the table and couldn’t have tasted better.

It was an extreme challenge to take some photo’s before digging in to demolish it. I mean look at that close up!

And now that we started with the tacos (because I just couldn’t wait), and then moved on to the appetizer, we may as well continue the backwards trend and finish with the drink. You guys may not believe me after telling you I just had my favorite tacos ever, but let me prove to you that I just had my favorite drink as well.

Just like I mentioned earlier, how “Marg night” was just as exciting as “Taco Tuesday”, meaning it wasn’t very exciting at all, because I never found a drink I liked. This isn’t the case anymore.

This drink, won me over at first sight:

Blackberry Beso

It was highly recommended by the server so we just went with it! Both Annie and I couldn’t believe that it tasted just as great as it looked. My experience at Nada now has me trying to make a tradition out of this pre-kend happy hour, the $4 margs and $2 tacos make it hard to pass up.

Not only do they have a “Pre-kend” Friday afternoon happy hour from 2:00-5:00 p.m. but they also have an all day “Wednesday getaway” summer event featuring vacay vibes, tiki drinks, and island snacks.

You guys now know where to find me this summer! I just convinced my boss to schedule our next Friday afternoon meeting at Nada.

And for those of you who are reading this blog post because you’re more interested in my style than my appetite, let me tell you a little bit about my shirt. When I found out Nada was my weekend plans, I wanted something more Mexican, and tropical looking. I was hoping to find something colorful and bright red, but then found this gorgeous top at Forever 21. It was under $20 and a shirt I knew I would love for years to come.

I even wore it to my business meeting this morning, with a leather jacket and work pants to dress it up.
